"When somebody starts insulting you, just know that you have won and
that they are surrendering their power to you. It is the same thing
when people stop discussing the issue at hand and start discussing you.

"They do it in soccer when the player starts playing the man instead
of the ball, it is because they are desperate and they are losing the
game," said Madonsela.

"I understand that sometimes humans kick because they are afraid. So
when they kick me, I know that they are doing the best that they can
and the driving force is fear."

The above describes the typical behaviour of liberals. They will
always insult you as a person, your intelligence and your knowledge.
And liberals do so because liberals are losers, they ALWAYS lose.

Self-entitled blacks and South Africa's white conservatives can also
learn from SA Public Protector Thuli Madonsela:

"When you put the attention on yourself, you see yourself as a victim
and once you see yourself as a victim, you are a danger to yourself
and to society because victims tend to do nothing wrong..."

While this is so typical of the ANC and Africa as a whole, all we have
been hearing from whites in South Africa, since 1994, is how they are
being victimised. We have heard more talk and read more complaints
about Britain's genocide against the Boers during the Anglo-Boer War
over the past 10 years than during entire past century combined. South
African whites have become victims of their past.

We read daily about the killing of whites, but we never hear about the
circumstances that led up to it, let alone about the total lack of
situational awareness that so often paved the way and created the
opportunities for it.

We read about a 50-year-old woman being shot in her car at a garage,
but we do not read about the fact that it was after midnight and that
she had just stopped on her way from one night club to the next, alone
in a car that time of the night, in Pretoria. This is but one example
of many.

The great Col. Jeff Cooper wrote in December, 1994: "The subject of
personal defense is far more psychological than technical. As soon as
you decide and insist that you will not be victimized, you have done
more than any weapon can to provide for your safety."
Whites have become a danger to themselves, not just because of
cowardly liberal sellouts appeasing those they fear most, but because
SA whites have developed a shameful "poor-us" victim mentality.

One has to wonder if SA whites will also be crying about being victims
of the ANC decades after the ANC Regime had been toppled, just as
blacks will still be crying about being victims of Apartheid for the
next 2,000 years.

One can foresee a time in the distant future where blacks and whites
will unite by crying on each other's shoulders, blacks about being
victims of apartheid and whites about being victims of the ANC Regime.

What would have happened to South Africa had the Boers also sat back
crying "victim" after the Anglo-Boer Wars? Fortunately the Boers
looked at what they had left to work with and to build upon, rather
than crying "victims of Britain".

1994 was the tenth Border War, the one and only Border War we lost,
and of the third Anglo-(American)-Boer War, the one where we just gave
it all up, rather than choosing to fight for our rightful place in
South Africa, the country that never even existed before 1910.

There is no one else to blame but ourselves, because South Africans
willingly and knowingly chose this path for themselves. We are not
victims of the ANC. We are victims of ourselves, victims of a
contorted history and a false breed of our own people.

We are not victims of war, victims of oppression, anti-white racism
and discrimination. We are victims of peace, victims of instilled
white guilt and victims of the criminally insane Human Rights
Movement, victims of big business' greed, victims of money and image,
victims of "international participation" and "international
integration", and last but not least;

We are victims of religio-political pacifism that taught us that,
"because of our sins of Apartheid" capitulation would serve as a kind
of repentance and an attempt to redeem our "our sins of Apartheid",
while resistance would "prove" a lack of remorse.

We could, like all of Africa, continue crying "victim" for the next
few hundred years, or we could choose to do something like a S.W.O.T.
analysis to determine what we have that we could use, that we could
build upon for a better future.

Only we can make this choice for ourselves, no one else can or will do
it on our behalf.

When somebody insults you, know that you have won - Madonsela

There are more than enough people all-over the world fighting for Cecil the 13-year-old Lion, so I am quite sure that it does not need any further input from me.

Here is a letter from a "Concerned Johannesburg citizen" to the Gauteng Premier David Makhuru, which might as well have been written to the president of South Africa, as this is the state of things throughout the country:

"I write on behalf of those living and working in Johannesburg who are killed, robbed, intimidated, and brutalised by criminals on a daily basis. Black, white, the aged, women, children, physically and mentally challenged, no one is spared.
Johannesburg is in a state of emergency due to the level of crime. Nowhere is safe and people are virtual prisoners in their homes. Arriving or leaving home is a nightmare. Our children travel to and from school in fear.
The rise in crime has an impact on all Gauteng citizens, and load-shedding makes it easier for criminals to escape.
We need an urgent solution to the crisis in Johannesburg and Gauteng.
We as Community Policing Forum members are unable to make a visible difference. Not even the police are able to curb the crime plague.
The police need the support of the SANDF to restore order. Public order has broken down, and state security is threatened.
We have become a failed province on the issue of crime, failing to protect our citizens.
Premier, we beg that the SANDF be deployed in Johannesburg before another family loses another father or mother or child to crime."
No similar outcry?

By November 2014 The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) has executed nearly 1,500 people in Syria in the five months since it declared the establishment of a "caliphate" and when It Comes to Beheadings, ISIS Has Nothing Over Saudi Arabia

In the first four months of 2015, a record 393 rhinos were killed by poachers – up 18% on the same time last year.

Using this outdated estimate and 2012/13 rape statistics suggest that 444,384 rapes were committed in 2012/13.
The most recent study into reporting rates found that in South Africa’s Gauteng province, only one in 25 rapes (4%) had been reported to police.

"researchers estimated that approximately 100 million sharks are killed per year by humans. However, they add that this is a conservative estimate, and the true number could be as high as 273 million sharks killed annually by humans."

Since the International Whaling Commission moratorium on whaling went into effect in 1986, 30429 whales have been killed. Despite bans on commercial whaling and the trade in whale products, Japan, Norway and Iceland still kill 2000 whales between them each year and also continue trade in whale products.

According to a national homicide study by the SA Medical Research Council, a total of 1 018 child homicides were recorded across the country in 2009 alone, with 454 being fatal child abuse cases.

Personal Note

As a matter of interest, I am not particularly fond of trophy hunting and personally I have an ethical and moral issue with trophy hunting, BUT I also realise that had it NOT BEEN for trophy hunting and hunting in general, South Africa's wild life would not have been steadily increasing over the years, and it would also have declined to near extinction as in the rest of Africa.

One has to weigh the pros and the cons of everything in life and we have to be practical and not just emotional about issues such as Cecil the lion.

In the meantime, while the world is running wild with the lion issue, the very same people screaming and crying on TV and social media about this lion, never say a damn word about ISIS, because they are too damn scared to say anything. It is therefore easier for them to cry and scream about a lion at the end of his life, than taking issue with serious matters such as the crime, murder, rape, beheadings, fraud and corruption of terrorist regimes.

Lion Numbers in South Africa vs the Rest of Africa

In 1999, there were between 800 and 1,000 lions in cages in South Africa. In 2005 there were between 3,000 and 3,500 captive lions. According to credible organizations like Panthera, South Africa has between 2,700 and 3,200 “wild” and “managed” lions—split roughly 50/50. The wild lions live in two parks, Kruger National Park and Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. Managed lions inhabit private reserves such as Phinda and Tswalu and are managed in the name of keeping the gene pool diverse. The South African Predator Association (SAPA) keeps track of captive lions and captive breeding facilities, and based on interviews we’ve done with SAPA and also with the South African department of environmental affairs, some 7,000 lions now live in captivity.
Latest Lion Population Estimates in Africa

Throughout Africa many people and organizations are working to assess the numbers of lions in a variety of areas.

On this page we will bring you the latest news as we get it about the remaining lions in Africa.

February 2014: Surveys of lions Panthera leo in protected areas in Zimbabwe yield disturbing results: what is driving the population collapse?

Direct estimates of lion populations from surveys in Gonarezhou suggests a total population of 33 lions (95% CI 28–39). In Tuli, no lions responded physically or vocally to calling stations, and no lion tracks were observed on the roads during 4 days of searching.

January 2014: The Lion in West Africa Is Critically Endangered

"Results suggest that only 406 (273–605) lions remain in West Africa, representing <250 mature individuals."

Estimates for four areas containing lions in West Africa were given as:

16 (0 - 54) in Niokolo-Koba NP, Senegal
356 (246 - 466) in W-Arly-Pendjari Lion Conservation Unit, Benin / Burkina Faso / Niger
32 (23 - 63) in Kainji Lake National Park, Nigeria
2 in Yankari Game Reserve, Nigeria

October 2013: King of Beasts Losing Ground in Uganda's Paradise (read online article here)

"According to the results of a recent survey, African lions in Uganda have decreased by more than 30 percent over the past 10 years in some areas of the country, mostly the result of poisoning by local cattle herders, retaliations for livestock predation, and other human-related conflicts. The downward trend in lion numbers has conservationists concerned about the species' long-term chances in the country, often described as the "Pearl of Africa" for its natural wonders."

Estimates for five areas containing lions in Uganda given as:

144 +/-22 in Queen Elizabeth Protected Area
132 +/-24 in Murchison Falls Conservation Area
132 +/-77 in Kidepo Valley National Park
2-8 lions in Toro-Semliki Wildlife Reserve
up to 5 lions in Lake Mburo National Park

March 2013: A study of lions in northwest Tete Province of Mozambique suggests 185 lions (range 136 - 227) exist in the region, down from a previous estimate of 295 lions made in 2009 and Chardonnet et al., which suggested 507 lions.
They are zombies, useless eaters and consumers. They follow the stream, never introducing anything new. Like zombies, conformists always follow the "norm", the mainstream and popular "public opinion", because they are unable & unwilling to think for themselves.

Arrogance is the measuring unit for liberal ignorance and the ANC serves as their base standard. Liberals cannot learn anything, yet they are the ones who establish "public opinion".

The following piece, "Assent becomes a duty" written by D.V. Grauvogl, was published in Shipman's Grauvogl (V.II., p.390) in 1870:

"What is commonly called public opinion is, plainly speaking, the opinion of two or three persons, and we should convince ourselves of the truth of this, could we but see into the mode in which this public opinion originated.

We should then find that there are two or three people who first assumed or decided or affirmed that such and such a thing was so without taking the trouble very thoroughly to examine it. Taking for granted that these had sufficient capacity of judgement, a few others also accepted their opinions; three again are believed by many others, whose indolence rather inclines them to believe it at once than to take the trouble to test it.

Thus grows from day to day the number of such indolent, easily believing adherents; for if the opinion had only gained a goodly number of advocates, those who adopted it afterwards attributed its prosperity to the quasi fact that those already accepting it would have done so only on account of weighty reasons.

Others were now constrained to accept what everybody else accepted, lest they might pass for restless souls who were setting themselves up against generally received opinions, and for malapert hinds, who would be wiser than the rest of the world. Assent now becomes a duty.

Now the few who are capable of judging must be silent; and those who are permitted to speak are those who, perfectly incapable of forming their own opinion or judgement, are the mere echo of the opinions of others; nevertheless, they are all the more zealous and intolerant advocates there of. For they hate in those thinking otherwise, not so much the diverse opinion they hold, as the arrogance of daring to judge for themselves; something, by the way, which they never venture themselves, of which they are at least conscious.

In short, very few can think, but all claim the right of having opinions; what else then remains for these latter, since they cannot make opinions for themselves, but to adopt the ready-made opinion of others? As this is the case of what avail now are the voices of a hundred million of men?"

"Dico ego, tu dicis, sed denique dixit et ille; dicta que post toties nil nisi dicta vides!" - D.V. Grauvogl

There you have it, the nature of "public opinion" originated by ignorant liberals, explained even long before we started calling them.... "liberals". He probably made as many, or more important decisions regarding our nation's history as any of the other 32 Presidents preceding him. However, a measure of his greatness may rest on what he did after he left the White House. The only asset he had when he died was the house he lived in, which was in Independence, Missouri. His wife had inherited the house from her mother and father and other than their years in the White House, they lived their entire lives there.

When he retired from office in 1952 his income was a U.S. Army pension reported to have been $13,507.72 a year. Congress, noting that he was paying for his stamps and personally licking them, granted him an 'allowance' and later, a retroactive pension of $25,000 per year.

After President Eisenhower was inaugurated, Harry and Bess drove home to Missouri by themselves. There was no Secret Service following them. When offered corporate positions at large salaries, he declined, stating, "You don't want me. You want the office of the President, and that doesn't belong to me.. It belongs to the American people and it's not for sale."

Even later, on May 6, 1971, when Congress was preparing to award him the Medal of Honor on his 87th birthday, he refused to accept it, writing, "I don't consider that I have done anything which should be the reason for any award, Congressional or otherwise."

As president he paid for all of his own travel expenses and food. Modern politicians have found a new level of success in cashing in on the Presidency, resulting in untold wealth. Today, too many in Congress also have found a way to become quite wealthy while enjoying the fruits of their offices. Political offices are now for sale.

Good old Harry Truman was correct when he observed, "My choices in life were either to be a piano player in a whore house or a politician. And to tell the truth, there's hardly any difference! We ought to have cloned him for telling it like it is and being frugal with our tax dollars! If you agree, forward it. If you don't, delete it. I don't want to know one way or the other. By me forwarding it, you know how I feel. Below are some of the facts referencing 1988

In 1972, SA blacks owned 360,000 vehicles. (More than all the black African states together)

The monthly income of blacks per capita in 1988 was R352 per month in South Africa – Malawi and Mozambique was less than R20 per month.

In 1988 black people could undergo a complicated heart valve surgery for just more than $ 1 while black Americans had to pay $ 15,000. In a Pretoria hospital between 2,000 and 3,000 of these surgeries were done per year.

In 1970, black workers earned R1,751 million, or 25.5% of the total wage fees in SA and increased to R17,238 million in 1984 (1,000% growth) and 32.3% of total wages in SA.

In the 1986/1987 financial year, whites paid R9,000 million and blacks R171 million tax. Indians paid R257 million and coloreds paid R315 million on tax.

Between 1962 and 1972 the UN paid $ 298 million to underdeveloped countries compared to South Africa that spent $ 558 million on the development of its black areas.

The budget amount for black education increases every year from 1970 to almost 30% more than any other government department.

From 1955 to 1984 the number of black scholars increased from 35,000 to 1,096,000. In 1988 71% of the adult black population could read and write versus 47% in Kenya, 38% in Egypt and 34% in Nigeria. On average during the year 15 new classrooms per working day were built for black scholars.

In 1985 there were 42,000 black students enrolled at SA universities.

There were 5 black universities and 28 higher education institutions funded by the government.

Soweto with its population of 1.2 million had 5 modern stadiums versus Pretoria with its 600,000 whites who had three. Soweto had 365 schools versus Pretoria 229. In Soweto in 1978, there were 115 football fields, three rugby fields, 4 athletic tracks, 11 cricket fields, two golf courses, 47 tennis courts, 7 swimming pools, 5 bowling halls, 81 basketball fields, 39 children playgrounds and countless community halls, cinemas and clubhouses.

In Soweto in 1978, there were 300 churches, 365 schools, 2 technicons, 8 clinics, 63 kindergartens, 11 post offices and its own fruit and vegetable market.

The white government built a huge hospital Baragwanath 3,000 beds in Soweto. One of the largest and most modern hospitals in the world.

Its 23 operating theaters were equipped with the best equipment money can buy.

Here blacks were treated at a nominal cost of R2 for an unlimited period.

In 1982, no fewer than 898 heart surgeries were done here.

Next to the Baragwantha Hospital is the St. John-eye clinic, famous for the treatment of glaucoma, previous fix retinas, traumatic eye injuries and rare tropical diseases.

There were over 2,300 registered firms, 1,000 taxi operators and 50,000 car owners in Soweto.

Dr. Kenneth Walker, a Canadian physician, visited Soweto and made the following observations:

He saw several houses worth more than R100 000 with various BMW’s at the door.

Only 2% of homes are shacks with neat buildings with lawns. If he had to choose between the decaying apartments in New York, Detroit or Chicago than he would rather stay in Soweto.

He’d rather be very ill in Soweto as in some Canadian cities.

He says the city has more schools, churches, cars, taxis, and sports fields than any other independent African states.

In 1978 the South African government built a highly modern hospital MEDUNSA on the border of the independent state of Bophuthatswana at a cost of R70 million on 35 hectares. In this “city” there were living and sleeping facilities for male and female students.

Black doctors, dentists, veterinarians and para-medical staff were trained. It is the only specialized university of its kind in Africa and one of the few in the world financed by white taxpayers exclusively to benefit blacks. Almost all students who mainly came from the national homelands costs were taken care of by the government.

The practical training took place in the nearby Garankuwa Hospital farm where the whole range of human ailments is covered.

Garankuwa had the facilities for kidney transplants, isotopes units with specialized laboratories where 200 doctors were trained practically every year.

South Africa provided training for the airline personnel of Swaziland, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zaire and the Comores.

In 1979, when the train traffic to the Malawian capital Lilongwe was interrupted by rebels, SA sent transport aircrafts with fuel drums to keep their economy going.

In 1986, 80,000 black businessmen from Africa visited Cape Town to finalize business deals.

South Africa provided the grain needs of its neighboring countries and wider. Other countries that also received South African grain were Angola, Ivory Coast, Malawi, Mauritius, Tanzania and Zaire.

At least 12 countries of Africa, according to the “Argus African News Service” were so dependent on SA grain that a total ban on imports and exports would have destroyed them economically.

About half of Lesotho’s male population worked in South Africa, about 146,000 in 1983, and earned R280,6 million which was about half of Lesotho’s treasury.
In the 1982/83 financial year SA budgeted R434 million for assistance to the independent neighboring states.

SA produced more electrical energy than Italy, as much crude steel as France, more wheat than Canada, more wool than the US, more wine than Greece and more fish than Great Britain.
South African trains ran on more rail lines than in West Germany, carried more passengers than Switzerland, have better punctuality record than Austria and exported car parts to 100 countries.

SA mines bore down to the depth of 3,480 meters and holds the record for the deepest vertical shaft at 2,498m deep into the hardest rock in the world.

They were accused by the world that they were a police state:

In SA 1.4 officers for every 1,000 people while the world is as follows: UK 2.2, Israel 3.5, New York 4.3, and Moscow 10 per 1000. Dr. Munroe published 60 books of which 49 were best sellers. One of the greatest men of our time, Myles Munroe was awe-inspiring, a visionary leader, a teacher blessed with unparalleled wisdom and insight... may he Rest In Peace.

Here is the verbatim script of part of his last TV interview as written down by Rose Iga Akudo:

"The greatest act of leadership is what happens in your absence.

If all you have done dies with you, you are a failure. True leadership is measured by what happens after you die.

This is why true leaders don’t invest in buildings (Jesus never built a building), they invest in people. Why? Because success without a successor is failure.

So your legacy should not be in buildings, programs, projects…your legacy must be in people.

The greatest act of leadership is mentoring. Who are you mentoring to take your place?

True leaders make themselves unnecessary. (I’m gonna repeat it again). True leaders make themselves unnecessary.

A true leader works themselves out of a job. So great leaders measure their greatness by their absence.

Study Jesus, the greatest leader of all. Listen to His words. “It is better for you that I go away. If I do not go away, you won’t be great. My absence is your greatness”.

He proved His greatness by leaving. He left. And His organization grew in His absence.

My question is, if you die today, as a leader, leaving the studio, in an accident, what happens to your organization, what happens to your church, what happens to your business?

If it dies when you die, you are a failure.

So I encourage you right now, identify your successors, and mentor them, and train them.

This is why in our organization, I am unnecessary. I can travel the world and our ministry grows. The companies grow.

My son, 29 years old, is running my businesses. My daughter, who is 30, is running our global organization. Why? I mentored them.

Jesus Christ said to Peter: Do you love me? Yes Lord. He said then, the company is yours. Feed the people. And He left.

What happens in your absence? That’s your legacy."
In the last media interview which he had in Kenya on October 24, Dr. Munroe talked on KTN’s JKL Show about dying and about being unafraid of death.

He said: "I want to challenge every Kenyan to go to the cemetery and disappoint the graveyard. Die like the Apostle Paul who said I have finished my course, I have kept the faith and I have been poured out like a drink offering. There is nothing left. I am ready to die. That’s how I wanna die because there is nothing else for me left to die," he told the show’s host, Jeff Koinange. "When you die, die like I am planning to die. Empty. It’s finished," Munroe added.

In this last interview also he explained why "The wealthiest spot on earth is actually the cemetary...":

The audience sits watching the film, which contains a huge amount of information being flashed at the screen, at a rate of 24 or even 48 frames per second, and the next moment a tiny little bee enters room.

The film is projected at 2.2 MP (megapixels), which is 2,200,000 pixels (dots) of visual information projected unto the screen at 24 or even 48 frames per second. Some theatres even use 8.85 MP (8,850,000 pixels) resolution at 24 frames per second.

That is a huge amount of visual information passed by the audience per second. Now add to that the huge amount of audio information being absorbed at the same time.

Movies are supplied to the theatre as a digital file called a Digital Cinema Package (DCP). For a typical feature film this file will contain anywhere between 90GB (gigabyte) and 300GB of data (roughly two to six times the information contained on a Blu-ray disc)

Each time you blink you lose millions of pieces of visual information.

The bee steals your attention

When a bee flies into a movie theatre, everyone's attention gets shifted from the vast amount of information on the screen to this tiny little "pest" flying around. In the meantime the movie does not stop rolling and the audience loses unimaginable amounts of information in the process.

The bee distracts everyone's attention from what they should be focusing on.

Everyone in the audience follows the bee, they chase the bee, they try catching the bee and they even try to kill the little bee, all the while completely forgetting about the movie and the vast amount of information, including the story-line, that they are missing.

At this point in time the media and politicians in South Africa are using you as one of those many little bees Mr. Hofmeyr. They are using your tweet as a bee to distract the public's attention away from much more serious, much more important, much more dangerous issues affecting this country right now.

Does it make any sense that, suddenly, the entire country flares up just because you tweeted an opinion that no one bothered to "Go figure!" as you suggested in the very tweet? Have you ever seen the killing of a sport star get such explosive attention as the recent killing of the Bafana Bafana goalkeeper?

Do you recall when the Rev Kemo Waters tweeted: “The only way to end racism is to kill a material number of whites. ... “ Mr. Hofmeyr? Do you recall any of the individuals, movements, groups or organisations now attacking you, ever having said a single word about that tweet Mr. Hofmeyr?

The only reason that particular tweet made the news was because it made reference to the leader of the Democratic Alliance "@helenzille your indifferent and patronising stance is a double dare…”, but none of those now attacking you, ever stood up against that tweet did they?

Mr. Hofmeyr, at least 410,000 people had been murdered in South Africa since 1994, roughly about 17,000 people each year or some 45 people each and every single day of each year that the media, the South African government, the tourism industry and economists do not want the world to know about... and your tweet Mr. Hofmeyr, is just one of the little bees being used to draw everyone's attention away from the horrific and unique murder situation in this country.

At least 66,387 rapes were reported to the SA Police in 2012/2013 alone, and your tweet is the little bee being used to draw the world's attention away from this serious danger in South Africa, Mr. Hofmeyr.

Eskom is collapsing and South Africa is facing a very dark future and your tweet is the bee being used to draw people's attention away from that dark future Mr. Hofmeyr.

South Africa is running out of water and food and your tweet is being used as just another bee to draw away the attention from that life-threatening situation Mr. Hofmeyr.

The communist, self-enriching, plundering tripartite alliance is splitting and South Africa is racing towards its very own "Tunisia-day" and your tweet is the bee keeping everyone's attention away from preparing for that looming catastrophe Mr. Hofmeyr.

The SA Airways (SAA) is collapsing, the SA Post Office is collapsing, mines are laying off thousands and offering retrenchment packages, hundreds of businesses are closing down and thousands are losing their jobs each day, none of which even make it to the newspapers Mr. Hofmeyr, because they have so many bees being used to draw away the public's attention .

A vast amount of serious, dangerous, life-threatening information is presently being ignored by the South African public, because a liberal puppet with little or no knowledge of politics or history, saw a bee, grabbed a hold of it, and let it loose in this movie theatre called the New South Africa.

The very groups, organisations and "movements, drawing everyone's attention to your tweet, never have and never will draw such attention to the threats of violence on Facebook, on twitter and in comments on news article:
These are just three (very recent) examples of hundreds of real, actual threats filled with blatant racial hatred, openly being posted regularly on public social media and widely distributed for all to see, yet strangely, it never draws any attention from any of the very same people and groups abusing your tweet, a personal opinion, as a bee Mr. Hofmeyr.

The attack on you and your tweet is not just an attack on freedom of speech, it is not just an attack aimed at destroying you personally and your career, it is not just an attack on the Afrikaans language aimed at destroying Afrikaans music and Afrikaans culture...

Your tweet Mr. Hofmeyr is being used very effectively as a very noisy bee to draw the public's attention away from the most dangerous and most difficult situation in the entire history of South Africa.
Also the former renegade Gen. Khalifa Hefter, a longtime Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) asset, has mounted a bid for power utilizing sophisticated weapons and air strikes.

A dispute over who could actually sell Libyan oil on the international market was eventually addressed by the U.S. when it sent a naval warship to reclaim cargo traded by interests inside the country who were not endorsed by Washington.

Unrest has erupted again surrounding which political group claiming authority in Libya would control the proceeds from oil sales. Both the parties controlling the capital of Tripoli who are often labelled as “Islamists” and the “government in exile” in the eastern city of Tobruk, say they are entitled to the revenue generated from the trade in oil.

The response of aerial bombardments from Egypt and the UAE will only further the generalized sense of lawlessness and terror.

http://www.globalresearch.ca/libya-war-continues-three-years-after-gaddafi-assassination/5409010

The UAE Has Been Secretly Sending Warplanes To Bomb Islamists In Libya
August. 26, 2014

The United Arab Emirates has secretly sent warplanes on bombing raids against Islamist militias in Libya over the past week, using bases in Egypt

The strikes signaled a step toward direct action by regional Arab states that previously have fought proxy wars in Libya, Syria and Iraq in a struggle for power and influence.

"The UAE carried out those strikes,"

The UAE -- which has spent billions on US-manufactured warplanes and other advanced weaponry -- provided the military aircraft, aerial refueling planes and aviation crews to bomb Libya, while Cairo offered access to its air bases, the paper said.

But it remained unclear whether and to what degree Egypt and the UAE had informed the Americans in advance of the airstrikes.

Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the Emirates view Islamist militants in the region as a serious threat and have forged cooperation against what they see as a common danger.

Without mentioning any air strikes by the UAE and Egypt, the statement said "outside interference in Libya exacerbates current divisions and undermines Libya's democratic transition."

The air strikes also underscored how Washington's old allies are more willing to act on their own, without backing from the Americans.

Saudi and UAE leaders in particular have expressed concern that Washington can no longer be counted on, citing US diplomatic overtures to Iran and a cautious approach to the Syrian conflict.

The strikes in and around Tripoli demonstrated the UAE's readiness to employ its air power, as the Emirates have built up one of the region's most proficient air forces with American gear and training.

About 5, 000 American troops are based in the Emirates, most of them airmen stationed at Al-Dhafra Air Base.

http://www.businessinsider.com/afp-uae-aircraft-bombed-islamists-in-libya-us-says-2014-8 ToxiNewshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11510457413100510059noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1561396371005495300.post-71790676118489773292014-10-28T20:09:00.000+02:002014-10-28T20:10:14.913+02:00The impact of refugees, legal and illegal immigration on the future of South African citizensA recent article stated that "There are 20.1 million economically active people in South Africa"

"South Africa's economically active population is growing, an indication that more people are coming into the labour force. Unfortunately, the growth in the number of economically active population does not correlate with the growth in the number of jobs created year-on-year,"

South Africa has 20.1 million economically active people but the country's labour absorption rate has remained stagnant at around 42.8%, according to the Annual Labour Market Bulletin. This lagged well behind the international average of about 60%.

The department's Employment Services for South Africa recorded 607,229 new job seekers in the past financial year, of which only 2.5% were placed in positions in the same period.

It recorded a sharp increase in trade union membership, which grew by 22.6% in the last financial year, compared to a 10% dip the year before that.

"Sustainable economic growth, restoring the country's competitiveness in the global economy and better matching of the work-seekers with the jobs are required for government to be able to find employment for more than five million unemployed people," the report stated."

"With half of South Africans without formal employment, the issue of illegal immigrants from neighbouring states had become one of the most sensitive political issues. Illegal Mozambicans alone are said to number between 500,000 and 1 million." The shocking part about these figures is that it comes from an article published in 1994. "Last year [1993] 96,000 illegal immigrants - 81,000 from Mozambique - were expelled from South Africa compared with 44,225 in 1988."

Ten years later, during the first 10 months of 2004, the South African government had deported 41,069 Zimbabwean citizens from Limpopo province alone, a nine percent increase from the total of 37,796 deportations in 2003.

"In 2009, the Chinese population in Africa was estimated at between 580,000 to 820,000. Today, that number is likely closer to (or even over) 1 million, although exact counts are virtually impossible to ascertain due to the mobility of Chinese migrants as well as highly porous borders within Africa, high levels of corruption within some African government agencies, and inefficiencies within agencies tasked with immigration and border control."

"South Africa, as one of the most developed countries in Africa, is a popular destination for Chinese moving to the continent. According to some reports, well over half of all Chinese migrants heading to Africa end up at the southern tip of the continent."

"After the dawn of democracy in South Africa in 1994, this country experienced a huge influx of immigrants and refugees. The increased flight of immigrants and refugees from some African as well as the SADC countries into South Africa has resulted in rapidly growing problems for the latter as the host country."

"In 1989 the South African Institute of International Affairs estimated that there were 1.2 million illegal immigrants in the country.

By 1994 they estimated the number at approximately 5 million (Minaar et al. 1995: 33). It is interesting to note that over the same period, however, the South African Police Services (SAPS) estimated the number of illegal immigrants at between 2 and 3.5 million or between 5 and 8 percent of the total population. Senator Carl Werth of the Freedom Front (FF), during a Home Affairs debate in the Senate in August 1994, announced that the number of illegal immigrants in the country was 8 million. A month later, Dr Frederick van Zyl Slabbert announced at the Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC) symposium that the number of illegal aliens in the country might be as high as 12 million (Minaar and Hough 1996: 127)."

"In 2010, more asylum applications were lodged in South Africa than in any other country in the world. The trend continued in 2011, and the heavy demands on the asylum system resulted in a backlog of more than 300 000 applications awaiting a decision. Most asylum applications and refugees in South Africa are from nationals of Burundi, Ethiopia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Rwanda, Somalia and Zimbabwe.

As of December 2010 some 58 000 people, mainly from Angola, the DRC, Burundi, Rwanda and Somalia had been recognised as refugees in South Africa. They were allowed to work and to avail themselves of basic social services."

"By June 2011, the Department of Home Affairs had received approximately 181 000 asylum applications for the year 2010. Ironically, this was a fifth of the total number received globally during the same period, making South Africa the world’s largest recipient of individual applications for asylum."

"In 2012, the ANC government tried to ease the pressure on the asylum system and made it more efficient. This saw some 275 000 Zimbabweans apply for work, study or business permits."

"Despite the above statistical data, there is general consensus among researchers in the migration field that migration into and within South Africa is poorly collected and coordinated (Wa Kabwe-Segatti and Landau 2006: 5;

Forced Migration Studies Programme Report 2010: 1). The Forced Migration Studies Programme (FMSP) Report of 2010, based on its extrapolation from [useless] census data, estimated the total foreign population to be between 1.5 and 2 million or 3-4 percent of the South African population (FMSP Report 2010: 3). In agreement with the above sentiments, Solomon (2003: 90) argues that the researchers were confronted by the central problem of the illegal and clandestine nature of this form of population movement because it provides an inadequate basis for its quantification."

It should be quite obvious that the above estimate of the total foreign population being between 1.5 and 2 million is absurd to say the least. It suggests that the total number of illegal foreigners increased from 1.2 million in 1989 to only some 2 million by 2013.

South Africa welcomed a total of 9,616,964 tourists in 2013. Africa, remains the largest source of foreign tourism arrivals to South Africa with 6,889,389 in 2013. This means that of the 9.6 million, 6.6 million were from Africa, as every other year, and no one can tell how many of those ever leave the country again.

Statistics South Africa reported that the annual number of deaths in South Africa increased by 57%, from 318,287 in 1997 to 499,268 in 2003. Calculated South African population growth could only account for approximately 10% of this increase. This means that 57% more people are dying, while South Africa's population is growing at a rate of only 1.3% per year (2013). By 2008 the total annual death figure had increased even more to 592,073 from 499,268 in 2003 and 318,287 in 1997. South Africa's latest population growth rate: -0.48% (August 2014 estimate), while 57% more people are dying.

According to Census 2011, we are, remarkably, five times less certain about the population than we were in 2001, which, says Mr Moultrie, "simply does not make sense". - Jury out on statistician's counting

Conclusion

It should be obvious that for South Africans the future looks very bleak. South Africa's infrastructure cannot cope with the demands posed by the population explosion caused by the influx of illegal foreigners and refugees.

Soon Chinese, Pakistanis, Zimbabweans and Nigerians will be filling the posts that should have been filled by South Africans. South Africans will be dying from thirst and be stuck without electricity, because foreigners and their extended families, refugees and illegal foreigners will extend the demand to way above the maximum available supply.

South Africa is running out of water, electricity and jobs.

There is more than enough evidence that South Africa has run out of electricity and jobs.

"We all know that there is not enough water in South Africa for the future,"

South Africa faces a growing gap between water supply and demand. Estimated demand for water in South Africa will reach 17.7 billion cubic meters in 2030. Current (2010) supply, by contrast, will equal only 15 billion cubic meters and South Africa purchases nearly 25 percent of its total water supply from nearby Lesotho, which is not politically stable. Demand for water would overtake supply by as early as 2025 and growing demand is greater than the Vaal river’s “sustainable supply”. South Africa’s annual rainfall is half the world average and the water infrastructure is crumbling due to lack of maintenance since 1994. South Africa’s plan to double its power generation capacity by 2025 will further constrain water resources.

South Africa's health services cannot cope with the demand, while more and more hospitals are closing down. More and more health professionals are fleeing the country. It is impossible to train health professionals fast enough to cope with the growing shortage. Mines are closing down, businesses are closing down and large corporations have been withdrawing in a steady stream.

The worst is that South Africa's farming community is shrinking fast due to communist legislation disguised under the banner of "land redistribution" forcing commercial farmers out of business, farmers being murdered at

Hundreds of schools have been closed down by the ANC regime and the country is suffering a serious shortage of teaching staff. South Africa already has the lowest standards of education in the world.

3.3 million people are paying 99% of all income taxes in South Africa and the tax burden on those 3.3 million people, which is also shrinking, is fast reaching breaking point.

The ANC regime is stealing money faster than South Africa's Industry and Commerce can generate.

SA's total Q2 2014 industry turnover was R1.86-trillion, less than in 2013 and measured against the US Dollar, South Africa is moving backwards.

55% of South Africans earn less than R10,000 (US$891) a month -$1,922 less than in 1994.

The South African Rand has lost its value. If you wanted emigrate to the U.S. with R10-million in your back pocket, you would arrive in America with just US$890,718.

Big-Business loves corrupt politicians, which is why they pushed so hard to get the ANC to power in South Africa, but now big business is threatening the ANC Regime with withdrawal:

"If we dump you, it will snowball. Go figure." - Steve Hofmeyr 11:33 AM - 23 Oct 2014

On 26 October he posted the following tweets on Twitter tagged as #RealArchitectsOfApartheid :

"Denial.Expected no less. It's tough to know that no-one wanted to play with you. They even institutionalised a little distance.
If other kids don’t want to play with you, it isn’t always their fault
If nobody wanted to invite you in as partner, it wasn’t always their fault
If nobody wanted to assimilate to your collective habits, it wasn’t always their fault
If folk did not want to share a country with you, why is it always their fault?
If governments send you home on trains and trucks back to this continent, it isn’t always their fault
If other governments tighten immigration laws against you, it isn’t always their fault
If the world doesn’t buy into African systems, mentality and reputation, it isn’t always their fault
If there has hardly been a prosperous black-led country, it isn’t always other people’s fault
If international investors flee the country, it isn't always their fault
If women, toddlers, grannies complain about your contribution to the rape rate, it isn’t always their fault
If horrified citizens complain about your contribution to the murder rate, it isn’t always their fault
If, back then, a sovereignty legislated you out of their lives, it wasn’t always their fault
If nobody is envious of pre- or post colonial African achievement, it isn’t always their fault
Does anybody get the metaphor now? Apartheid was cruel, unfortunate and unsustainable, but WHAT inspired that maddening segregation?"

Following on Mr. Hofmeyr said, let us consider the following:

In an article entitled ‘SA could become like Nigeria’, 26 October, Professor Kole Omotoso (The "Yebo Gogo" man in Vodacom's television advertising campaign of some 20 years ago), an African himself, says:

The question I keep going back to, and which really gets to me, is this: What were the leaders of African countries thinking when they got their independence in the 1960s?

“They must have had such big dreams of what was possible in a post-colonial era. I think so often of all the people I got to know during apartheid who were involved with the anti-apartheid movement… What were they all hoping for when South Africa was finally liberated? And why has that dream been shattered? What kind of people have allowed this to happen?”

Although based in South Africa, Omotoso visits Nigeria regularly. “It is a real tax on the senses. It is so good to be back in a country [South Africa] where you don’t have as much hassles to deal with on a very basic everyday existence – like roads, lack of electricity, and running water. It’s good to be back,” he said.

Nigeria has been crippled by corruption. “Take the steel industry for example. The government awarded a contract to a company to build steel factories in 1979. When it was 90 percent completed, it was abandoned, then re-awarded to the same company for another amount of money, and then abandoned again. When each government comes in, they award the same project. Nigeria is a country that talks about industrialisation but hasn’t produced a nail. There are no municipal services, so every house is a local government on its own. In Nigeria you could not ask to see a domestic municipal bill… there is nothing like that. So you walk down the street, and you will see and hear one generator plant after the other, from house to house. The noise is unbearable."

“There is also no meaningful provision of electricity or water. Everybody has their own generator or water supply." "... although the president is in power, Corruption is in control. Corruption is the decisionmaker.”

Omotoso had a warning for South Africa: “We might get to a point where the ANC is in power but corruption is the decisionmaker.”

Is South Africa heading towards being crippled by corruption? “Yes, I think so, and it’s happening fast. Take the arms deal… It’s a case of those in power going out and buying something the country does not need because of a huge kickback. What was the deciding factor in going for that deal? Was it security needs or corruption? You can reduce the arms deal down to what is happening on a local government level, where projects become ‘ATMs’ for governments in power as they keep awarding contracts at inflated costs to society.

“What is particularly disturbing is the way people accept corruption in South Africa."

“They have not experienced living in a country that’s been brought to its knees by corruption, where corruption is in power. Nigeria has reached that point. We in SA have not.”

Back in 1969, John Mbiti, a Professor of African Philosophy and Religion, an African himself, explained 'The African Concept of Time':

"He wrote that the concept of time may help to explain beliefs, attitudes, practices, and general way of life of African people, not only in the traditional set up, but also in the modern situation (whether political, economical, educational or church life).

Time to Mbiti, in African concept, is of little or no academic concern, especially in their traditional life. In his words, to Africans, time is simply a composition of events which have occurred, those which are taking place now and those which are immediately to occur. He wrote that what has not taken place or what has no likelihood of an immediate occurrence falls in the category of “No time”. What is certain to occur, or what falls within the rhythm of natural phenomena is in the category of inevitable or potential time.

In the traditional African setting, according to Mbiti, time is a two dimensional phenomenon, with a long past, a present and virtually no future. This is contrary to the linear time concept in western thought, with an indefinite past, present and future. Based on his research in some tribes in East Africa, Mbiti concluded that African has no time consideration in the perspective of the future. This is because the events in the future have not taken place."

"Mbiti portrayed that beyond a few months from the present, African concept of time is silent and indifferent. To him, it means that the future is virtually non-existence as actual time. To them, what will constitute future should be extremely brief. This is so because any meaningful event in the future must be so immediate and certain that people have almost experienced it.

On the other hand, if the event is remote, say beyond two years from now then, it cannot be conceived by the people. It cannot be spoken of and the language themselves have no verb tenses to convert that distant future dimension of time.

It becomes obvious that time in the African concept, at the pre colonial era is tied to or related to the events of the time. The linear time was alien to the people. They see time in the perspective of actuality, dominated by events. Time to them has to be experienced. It makes meaning to them when it is related to whether, seasons, natural phenomena around them. Time then was not mathematical or numerical. It is simply time as experienced by the people in relation to events around them."

Just recently, one of the reasons the ANC Regime's President Jacob Zuma believed criminal charges against him relating to the SA arms deal should be dropped was because corruption is only a crime in a “Western paradigm”.

In 2006, Zuma said that a woman wearing a wrap or a kanga, construed a sexual signal, and that “in Zulu culture, you don’t just leave a woman [when she is aroused] ... she will have you arrested and say you are a rapist”.
A Rare, Astonishing Conversation with Credo Mutwa - by Rick Martin 1999, The SPECTRUM newspaper

"I live in Africa. Here are my people. Here is my home. But I see Africa being destroyed in wars that make no sense whatsoever to me as an African. I look at India which, like Africa, suffered the scourge of colonialism by the French, the English, and other European powers. But India, through her independence as a country, has achieved the things which we, Africa, have failed to achieve. Why?

India has exploded the atomic bomb and is today one of the feared nations of this world. India has launched satellites into orbit. India, although she has the same problems as Africa has-a burgeoning population, religion as well as tribal strife-although India has got an incredibly poor section of her population, as well as an incredibly rich one, she has achieved things that Africa has failed to achieve."

"I am in South Africa now. Here I was born, and here I was to die. But I see my country falling apart like a rotting mango. South Africa was once a powerful country. She had a powerful army. She had huge industries, which were producing everything from locomotives to little radios. But today my country has become a drug-sodden, crime-ridden piece of rubbish. Why?"

"There are wars which take place in Africa, where after an African country has gained its independence from the colonial power, then a force of rebels pick up weapons against that country’s government, but instead of the rebels fighting the government to the bitter end, what happens again and again is that the rebel forces split into various groups which end up fighting not only the government in power, but also each other. And the result is that, in several African countries, the country is so destroyed that, no matter which party wins, the people lose. In other words, Africans have now started fighting wars which bring about not victory, but the destruction of themselves, as well as their people."

"There were no drugs in South Africa during the days of the apartheid government. Now, under our democratic government, our country has become one drug-sodden cess pit. Why?"

In a speech during the festive season in KwaZulu-Natal in 2012, ANC President Jacob Zuma told Africans that “Even if you apply any kind of lotion and straighten your hair you will never be white,”
Why It’s Good to Run A Church Like A Business

The line between business and church is messy. It’s a line everyone must walk, and nobody’s sure how to do it well.

Is this a church or a business? Or could it be both?

Money may not be your primary responsibility as a church, but it’s certainly important.

While God does provide for our every need, he also honors those who are faithful with what they’ve been given.

Running your church like a business—thinking about opportunity cost, revenue, and growth—is one way to stay true to these fiscal responsibilities.

The better we function as a business, the more we can care for the people on our payroll, offering them benefits and a fitting salary in exchange for their love and hard work.

Sure, the business world can be heartless, but it doesn’t have to be. In fact, it can be really smart. When you make more money than you spend, understand budgets, embrace what it takes to hire a high-functioning staff, understand sustainability and maximizing resources—your church can thrive.

Treating our churches more like a business doesn’t have to be Godless endeavor. In fact, creating a healthy, sustainable, well-managed church organization might just be the best way to serve our congregation well.

The Church is a Big Fat Business

The latest revelation, two pieces in the 2013 spring issue of Adventist Today by T. Joe Willey and Jim Walters, is that those exercising the right arm of the message are making themselves millionaires under its banner.

How Rich Is the Catholic Church?

Nobody really knows, because religious groups don’t need to follow regular accounting and disclosure rules.

Pope Francis is not just the spiritual leader of one of the world’s major religions: He’s also the head of what’s probably the wealthiest institution in the entire world. The Catholic Church’s global spending matches the annual revenues of the planet’s largest firms, and its assets—huge amounts of real estate, St. Patrick's Cathedral, Vatican City, some of the world’s greatest art—surely exceed those of any corporation by an order of magnitude.

Our best window into the overall financial picture of American Catholicism comes from a 2012 investigation by the Economist, which offered a rough-and-ready estimate of $170 billion in annual spending, of which almost $150 billion is associated with church-affiliated hospitals and institutions of higher education. The operating budget for ordinary parishes, at around $11 billion a year, is a relatively small share, and Catholic Charities is a smaller share still.

Apple and General Motors, by way of comparison, each had revenue of about $150 billion worldwide in Fiscal Year 2012.

The most lucrative businesses in Nigeria

Church business, on the one hand, is the exploitation of a people’s misplaced and exaggerated spirituality, borne out of the hardships they are facing and the baseless fear of the unknown. Operators of this business have a simple task of continuously orchestrating the people’s helplessness and gullibility regarding issues such as ill health, poverty and unemployment (all outcomes of a failure of leadership in the country) to remain in business.

To ensure success in the business, you have to be a good orator, a psychologist, and a dramatist. It is important that you hold your congregation spellbound all the time. Also, you must run the business like a sole proprietorship. You alone should give the directives and no one should question your authority. Close associates who get too ambitious should be disgraced, called agents of the devil, and excommunicated.

In the meantime however, like a ‘man of God’ told me in an e-mail in response to my article ‘Nigerian Men of God as Con-Artists’, there is enough room for everyone in the business. So if you have the money, invest.

Megachurches: The hidden pillar of Nigeria's economy

Exactly how much of Nigeria's $510bn GDP megachurches make up is difficult to assess, since they are, like the oil sector, largely opaque entities.

“They don’t submit accounts to anybody,” says Bismarck Rewane, economist and CEO of Lagos consultancy Financial Derivatives. “At least six church leaders have private jets, so they have money. How much? No one really knows.”

As the churches have charity status, they have no obligation to open their books, and certainly don’t have to fill in tax returns—an exemption that is increasingly controversial in Nigeria, where poverty remains pervasive despite the oil riches.

The pastors argue their charity work should exempt them.

“We use the income of the church to build schools, we use the income of the church to serve the needs of the poor,” David Oyedepo, bishop of the popular Winners Chapel, told Reuters in an interview. “These are non-profit organisations.”

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) declined to comment on how churches fit into their GDP figures, but a source there said they were included as “non-profit”, which falls under “other services” in the latest figures. In 2013, the category contributed 2.5% of GDP, the same as the financial sector.

A former banker at Nigeria’s United Bank for Africa, who declined to be named, recalled being approached five years ago by a church that was bringing in $5-million a week from contributions at home or abroad.

“They wanted to make some pretty big investments: real estate, shares,” he said. “They wanted to issue a bond to borrow, and then use the weekly flows to pay the coupon.”

In the end, he said, the bank turned down the proposal on ethical grounds.

The bank was more ethical than the church

How the Mormons Make Money

Late last March the Mormon Church completed an ambitious project: a megamall. Built for roughly $2 billion, the City Creek Center stands directly across the street from the church’s iconic neo-Gothic temple in Salt Lake City. The mall includes a retractable glass roof, 5,000 underground parking spots, and nearly 100 stores and restaurants, ranging from Tiffany’s (TIF) to Forever 21. Walkways link the open-air emporium with the church’s perfectly manicured headquarters on Temple Square. Macy’s (M) is a stone’s throw from the offices of the church’s president, Thomas S. Monson, whom Mormons believe to be a living prophet.

On the morning of its grand opening, thousands of shoppers thronged downtown Salt Lake, eager to elbow their way into the stores. The national anthem played, and Henry B. Eyring, one of Monson’s top counselors, told the crowds, “Everything that we see around us is evidence of the long-standing commitment of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to Salt Lake City.” When it came time to cut the mall’s flouncy pink ribbon, Monson, flanked by Utah dignitaries, cheered, “One, two, three—let’s go shopping!”

The Mormon Global Business Empire
Mormons make up only 1.4 percent of the U.S. population, but the church’s holdings are vast. First among its for-profit enterprises is DMC, which reaps estimated annual revenue of $1.2 billion from six subsidiaries, according to the business information and analysis firm Hoover’s Company Records (DNB). Those subsidiaries run a newspaper, 11 radio stations, a TV station, a publishing and distribution company, a digital media company, a hospitality business, and an insurance business with assets worth $3.3 billion. Inside the most powerful church in south Africa

Jacob Zuma attends. So do many of the ANC's most senior figures. But suspicion of Rhema's materialist message has left outsiders worried at its growing influence.

To its supporters, who include some of the country's most powerful people, it is a welcome coming together of two of South Africa's favourite pastimes, conspicuous consumption and Christianity. To its critics it's a prosperity cult.

Set in an estate of it own in the comfortable Johannesburg suburb of Randburg, Rhema has a vast car park that is made to resemble the forecourt of a luxury vehicle dealership every Sunday. The charismatic Christian evangelical organisation goes out of its way to make the well-heeled feel comfortable, and so the pastor, who is dressed in a shiny black shirt with contrasting white stitching, is happy to boast of Rhema's status.

"We are not an ordinary church. The president comes to us to ask for advice," he says proudly. "We are very influential and very active on social issues."

Pastor Sifiso leans back into an ample leather armchair and prepares to explode what he sees as the misconception that a rich man cannot enter heaven.

"Listen, the bible tells us that the streets of heaven are paved with gold," he says. As the young preacher speaks there's a glint of the precious metal from the jewellery under his shirt cuffs.

"Where there is Jesus, there is gold everywhere," he insists.

South African Pastor Calls Prosperity Gospel Damaging, Asks 'Where Are We Heading To?'

Thuso Kewana, an ordained pastor and ministry leader living in impoverished South Africa, says he can be silent no longer about the damaging effects of the prosperity gospel, an American export he believes is unbiblical and used by wolves in sheep's clothing to prey on mostly charismatic and Pentecostal Christians not only in his country, but around the world.

Kewana, speaking recently via phone from his home in Polokwane in the Limpopo province, bordered by Botswana, Zimbabwe and Mozambique, told The Christian Post he has witnessed how the prosperity gospel can warp people's understanding of God — leaving the impression that He requires worshippers to give money, to ministers, churches or their favorite television network, before they can be blessed with financial, physical and spiritual well-being.

Best-selling Christian author and writer and preacher at Oak Hills Church, Max Lucado

Max Lucado is a preacher with a storyteller’s gift—a pastor’s heart and a poet’s pen. Max’s sermons begin at home with the congregation at Oak Hills Church, which he has led for more than 25 years. It is in this setting that his stories are first told, from a pastor’s heart. Eventually some of these sermons and stories are refined and fashioned into books that are shared far beyond the walls of Oak Hills and the city limits of San Antonio, Texas. Max’s words have traveled around the world in more than 54 languages via more than 120 million individual products. Most of these products are books (92 million), which have now occupied spots on every major national bestseller list. Over the years Max Lucado has been featured in countless national media outlets, dubbed “America’s Pastor” by Reader’s Digest, and even named one of the most influential leaders in social media by The New York Times.

The Zion Christian Church (ZCC)

Lekganyane is synonymous with South Africa’s biggest Christian denomination, the Zion Christian Church (ZCC). It is one of the largest African initiated churches in southern Africa. The ZCC is estimated to number between 2 million and 6 million followers in more than 4000 parishes.

The ZCC is different from the “church businesses” and “prosperity churches”, which are popular among both rich and poor.

Nevertheless, many of its members are small business owners who ask for blessings over their efforts. They thank the church traditionally with a gift of their own choosing.

At the end of the 2013 Easter long weekend: “They say there were 9.4 million of us here today!” That is more than 100 soccer stadiums full of worshippers.

No one has been able to estimate the wealth of the ZCC

The Dutch Reformed Church (DRC)

It consists of three sister churches.

Total membership is 1,074,765 and there are 1,626 ordained ministers in 1,162 congregations.

One of the richer congregations, the Moreleta Park Dutch Reformed Church, built an auditorium seating approximately 7,100 people, completed in 2006 for R95-Million, with administrative facilities worth R62-million completed in 2009 with a third phase in it's planning stages.

Total financial worth of the DRC is unknown.

Angus Buchan, a Zambian farmer of Scottish heritage

He first came to prominence after the release of his book, followed by a movie, entitled Faith Like Potatoes.

By 2010, The Mighty Men Conference, organised by Shalom Trust, seated more than 400,000 people and it is estimated that 80% were Afrikaans men.

He has published a string of books and two films, Faith Like Potatoes (2006) and Angus Buchan's Ordinary People (2012).

"Buchan is an economic change agent, and his story shows how building dreams around God can result in grand results like no other."

A former friend of Mr Buchan's, Shaun Willock said, "But then our paths diverged. It was inevitable, for as he embraced the Charismatic movement and became increasingly involved in it, the Lord was opening my eyes to the unbiblical errors of Pentecostalism/Charismatism, culminating ultimately in my departure from it and utter repudiation of it. And in this can be seen the discriminating grace of God. Separation from all that the Pentecostal/Charismatic movement stood for was what I desired, whereas Angus wanted more of it."

NOTE:

So why is Angus Buchan mentioned here? Well he says he does not make any money from using the Bible. Angus Buchan the money maker? Nah, he is the only man on earth who does not make any money from his films, books, road shows, conferences in SA, USA and across the world, he does it for free remember. According to his entranced followers, most of whom obviously never had maths at school, he does not make even a single cent for himself.

He does not even feature among...
South Africa’s local government owes Eskom just under R3 billion in unpaid electricity with just under R2 billion unpaid for over 90 days. The biggest delinquent municipalities are from the Free State (over R1 billion owed), Mpumalanga (over R800 million) and the North West (just under R400 million). Matjhabeng (Welkom) and Emalahleni (Witbank – where Eskom generates much of its electricity) owe so much, it is hard to imagine there debts to Eskom ever being repaid.

What is clear is that we are in for a hard time in the next five years or so. Load shedding will become part of our lives and we will need to get used to it. Eskom’s much-needed change of maintenance philosophy will reduce its generating availability for 2015 by 7,400 MW, 5,900MW in 2016, 4,200MW in 2017, 2,200MW in 2018 and by 1,100MW in 2019. Clearly all such ability to meet such timelines is dependent upon Eskom’s funding and engineering capabilities. Both of these are in short supply.

Eskom may take years to start all six units at its Medupi power plant, according to a National Planning Commission member.
The utility expects to connect the first of six units at its coal-fired 4 764-megawatt Medupi facility by the end of this year.

“According to senior Eskom sources, the second unit is scheduled to come online two-and-a-half years after the first and then the subsequent units at six-month intervals,” Anton Eberhard, a planning commission member and professor at the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business, said today.

“Due to political pressure to show progress, they diverted resources away from the remaining units to focus on getting the first commissioned.”

Labour strikes and contractor errors pushed Medupi’s plans back and Eskom last month said the plant was 73% done. The first unit was supposed to be commissioned in 2012, Eskom said on its website.

This is not all – we can expect electricity price increases significantly above inflation. Our 30-year investment holiday where we enjoyed cheap and abundant electricity is now well and truly over.

Links to the full articles:

Ticking down: SA's (energy) clockwork orange
http://www.dailymaverick.co.za/article/2014-10-02-ticking-down-sas-energy-clockwork-orange/#.VC1fz9-jn8u

Few years before all Eskom’s Medupi units come online
http://www.citypress.co.za/business/years-eskoms-medupi-units-come-online/

Related ToxiNews Articles

Collapsing SA Rand suffers longest losses on record, SA trade deficit almost doubled, SA's ailing economy growing at only 1.7 percent
http://toxinews.blogspot.com/2014/10/collapsing-sa-rand-suffers-longest.html

55% of South Africans earn less than R10,000 (US$891) a month -$1,922 less than in 1994
http://toxinews.blogspot.com/2014/09/55-of-south-africans-earn-less-than.html

SA's total Q2 2014 industry turnover was R1.86-trillion, less than in 2013
http://toxinews.blogspot.com/2014/09/sas-total-q2-2014-industry-turnover-was.html ToxiNewshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11510457413100510059noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1561396371005495300.post-29635468022919344462014-10-02T00:23:00.001+02:002014-10-02T00:23:17.109+02:00ANC Regime refuses Dalai Lama a Visa to SA - 6 brave women cause the World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates to be cancelledANC Regime refuses Dalai Lama a Visa to SA - 6 brave women boycott and cause the World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates to be cancelled.

While the summit was backed by foundations representing four South African peace laureates:

Archbishop Desmond Tutu;
Nelson Mandela;
FW De Klerk; and
Albert Luthuliremain
- all of whom chose to keep silent on the ANC Regime's refusal to allow the Dalai Lama into South Africa, the world shuns South Africa by boycotting the summit, forcing it to be cancelled.

At least six women had the guts to stand up, while the hypocrites chose to remain silent.

We thank the six women who had confirmed their boycott:

American activist Jody Williams;
Iranian lawyer Shirin Ebadi;
Liberian activist Leymah Gbowee;
Yemeni journalist Tawakkol Karman;
Northern Irish activist Mairead Maguire; and
A representative of the International Campaign to Ban Landmines.

Pre-1994, the world was coerced into boycotting South Africa. Meanwhile, the National Treasury is predicting South Africa's ailing economy to grow at only 1.7 percent this year.

The currency posted its 10th straight quarterly drop against the dollar in the three months through September, the longest stretch since at least 1971, when Bloomberg began compiling the data.

“Our economic fundamentals are not a good story and I can’t see the commodity cycle turning. We’re probably going to see more rand weakness.”

The currency retreated to its weakest level since January, closing in on the lowest since October 2008, after South Africa’s trade deficit widened more than economists’ estimates in August. The shortfall climbed to 16.3 billion rand ($1.4 billion) from 6.8 billion rand and more than the 8.7 billion- rand median estimate of 14 economists in a Bloomberg survey.

Take note: South Africa’s trade deficit almost doubled, from R6.8-billion to R16.3-billion

Raw materials accounted for 60 percent of exports in 2013, with South Africa's new colonisers, China, being the biggest buyer of coal, iron ore and other mining commodities. In the meantime, China's economy will be growing at its slowest pace in more than two decades.

“Should China experience further slowdown, the rand will likely weaken as commodity prices ease once again,” Annabel Bishop, the Johannesburg-based chief economist at Investec, said.

Investec revised its year-end forecast for the rand to 10.92 per dollar, compared with a previous forecast of 10, and said there is a 45 percent probability of a “down-case scenario” that could see the currency depreciate to 11.70 this year and 12.70 by the end of 2015.

The National Treasury is predicting South Africa's ailing economy to grow at only 1.7 percent this year.

“Even with an end to the worst of the industrial unrest, South Africa’s problems are not over,” Razia Khan, a London- based Africa economist at Standard Chartered Plc, said in an e- mail yesterday. “There is no evidence of a hoped-for automatic correction in external metrics. The rand may have to adjust further.”

A friend added the following:

"I did a quick calculation yesterday (which I posted on my wall) taking the run rate of the Rand over the last few months (source Oanda.com) and it is my prediction the Rand will be somewhere between R11.70 and R12,70 by year end. The Rand is losing 6% of its value month on month for the last three months. The slide started to happen on the 27th July 2014 and the stats after that don't lie. Most importers of electronic goods - myself included - are already costing at R11.55 / USD with many of my compatriots stating that they are moving to costing at R11.70/USD and we are nowhere near year end yet."

This is according to explosive documents obtained exclusively by the Sunday Times that reveal how Thales fixer Ajay Sooklal allegedly arranged flights, fancy clothes, legal fees and lavish hotel stays in Europe for Zuma when he faced corruption charges linked to the arms deal.
Thales's South African subsidiary Thint won a R2.6-billion contract in 1997 to fit four new navy frigates with combat suites.
The documents are transcripts of testimony given under oath before retired Judge Phillip Levinsohn at confidential arbitration hearings held earlier this year in a fee dispute between Sooklal and Thales.
The transcripts, totalling 1358 pages, provide a detailed account of Sooklal's work as a lawyer and secret fixer for Thales for six years.
Sooklal claims he is owed R70-million in outstanding fees. Thales has offered him R42-million.
Zuma declined to respond to detailed questions e-mailed to his spokesman Mac Maharaj this week.
"Anyone with information relating to the arms deal should bring it to the attention of the Seriti commission," Maharaj said. "The commission has been established specifically to deal with such allegations and rumours."
The commission resumes on October 6 with testimony from arms deal activist Terry Crawford-Browne.
The transcripts expose for the first time that:
Zuma used the code words "Eiffel Tower" to accept a R500000-a-year bribe from Thales in return for political protection in the arms deal probe and to secure future business;
- Thales gave former ANC treasurer Mendi Msimang a cheque for €1-million (about R14-million at today's rates) in April 2006 to be paid from a secret Dubai account into an "ANC-aligned trust" shortly before the company was due to stand trial for corruption with Zuma;
- Thales was asked to bankroll the ANC conference at Polokwane in 2007, where Zuma was elected party president, but did not do so;
- Thales furiously lobbied ANC officials including former president Thabo Mbeki, former justice minister Penuell Maduna, former secretary-general Kgalema Motlanthe and Msimang to be let off the hook, even enlisting the help of French president Jacques Chirac; and
- Thales bankrolled Zuma and Sooklal to fly around the world and meet witnesses who could help the ANC president in his forthcoming corruption trial, even when they were unrelated to Thales.
- As deputy president and head of government business at the time, Zuma was also expected to promote the French arms and electronic company's future business ventures in South Africa in return for his alleged bribe.
The arms company has since clinched several lucrative state contracts.
These include a R1.87-billion rail signalling contract in the Western Cape in 2013, a R100-million electronic ticketing system for the Gautrain in 2007 and a R95-million air traffic control maintenance contract in 2009 that did not go out to tender.
Despite a decade of court proceedings, Sooklal's is the first sworn testimony that Zuma personally signalled his acceptance of the bribe that led to Shaik's conviction. The code words used, "Eiffel Tower", has also never been revealed before.
The documents show Shaik proposed the bribe and code words to Alain Thetard, who headed Thint at the time. On March 11 2000 Shaik brought Thetard to see Zuma at King's House, his official residence in Durban, where he allegedly said: "I see the Eiffel Tower lights are shining today."
This was taken to mean Zuma had accepted the bribe offer. At the meeting Thetard jotted down the terms of the bribe agreement on a piece of paper he later gave to his personal assistant, who typed it up and sent it via encrypted fax to Thales's Paris and Mauritius offices. The fax became a crucial item of evidence and helped convict Shaik on corruption charges.
Two courts found that the King's House meeting in 2000 led to the first R250000 tranche of bribe money being released to Shaik.
The transcripts reveal the extent to which Thales had Zuma and the ANC in their pocket.
Sooklal, a politically connected former government official, was hired in 2003 to "make representations to the highest authorities in the land" to get corruption charges against Thales withdrawn and arrest warrants for its top executives uplifted soon after then-prosecutions boss Bulelani Ngcuka announced he would charge Shaik - and said there was a "prima facie" case of corruption against Zuma.
Sooklal was mandated by Thales to help Zuma beat his corruption charges. Zuma and Thint were only charged in November 2005, after Shaik was convicted of corruption.
Pierre Moynot, who replaced Thetard to head Thales's South African arm, allegedly told Zuma in Sooklal's presence: "Your clothes and your other outgoings anywhere in the world, I will pay for that."
Moynot allegedly handed the à1-million cheque to Msimang at his Waterkloof, Pretoria, home in Sooklal's presence. "Mr Msimang was quite happy with the cheque" and asked Moynot to thank his boss in Paris, said Sooklal.
Asked to comment on Sooklal's allegations, Moynot said Thales had hired him because he had "very good relations with the government" but accused him of "lying" in his testimony. "We realised very soon he was not a proper guy - he would do anything for money," Moynot said.
However, he confirmed that Thales had bankrolled Zuma's clothes, trips and legal fees and made a substantial donation to the ANC. "He had no money at the time. That's why we helped him," he said.
Thales wanted Zuma's prosecution "to be stopped as soon as possible. If he had lost, the company would have a lot of problems in his country and we would have had to leave."
There was nothing untoward in the ANC donation. "A lot of companies want to have good relations with the ANC and give them money from time to time." Asked to confirm the amount of à1-million, he said it was "something like that".
ANC spokesman Zizi Kodwa said "the ANC has got no record of such a donation. It's hearsay."
Sooklal's job with Thales ended after charges against Zuma and Thint were controversially withdrawn in April 2009 by prosecutions boss Mokotedi Mpshe, citing evidence of political interference contained in the so-called spy tapes.
Thales has declined to make any official comment, saying the arbitration matter was "sub judice at this stage". Sooklal said he would comment when the hearings ended. They are scheduled to continue this month.
Thetard and Msimang could not be reached for comment.

Source: http://www.timeslive.co.za/politics/2014/09/28/exposed-how-arms-dealer-thales-bankrolled-zuma

Further Reading

Camp Quatro – ANC crimes against humanity
http://stopwhitegenocideinsa.wordpress.com/2014/09/28/camp-quatro-anc-crimes-against-humanity/

How Big Business and the Media Sold South African Citizens to Communist Gangsters
http://toxinews.blogspot.com/2013/11/self-determination-boer-republics.html

Self Determination - Boer Republics, Volkstaat, Secession
(See paragraph under the heading "The battle for a United South Africa")
http://toxinews.blogspot.com/2013/11/self-determination-boer-republics.html

How international banks lured pre-1994 South Africa into a trap
http://toxinews.blogspot.com/2014/09/how-international-banks-lured-pre-1994.html

Arms dealer had Zuma in its pocket - report
(Zuma also allegedly used the code words "Eiffel Tower", which when translated meant "bribe".)
http://www.news24.com/SouthAfrica/Politics/Arms-dealer-had-Zuma-in-its-pocket-report-20140928 ToxiNewshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11510457413100510059noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1561396371005495300.post-9178728497901794622014-09-29T15:28:00.000+02:002014-09-29T15:29:02.209+02:00SA's total Q2 2014 industry turnover was R1.86-trillion, less than in 2013South Africa's total industry turnover for the second quarter (Q2) 2014 was R1.86-trillion, which at the current value of the Rand is US$165-billion.

"Year-on-year the increase has been positive," claims SA statistician general Pali Lehohla.

South Africa's total industry turnover for the second (Q2) quarter 2013 was R1.71-trillion, which at the value of the Rand at the time, was the equivalent to US$168-billion.

This means that measured against the US Dollar, South Africa is moving backwards. In Sept 1994 your R10,000 was worth US$2,813, today it is worth only US$891, but economists are trying to convince us that we're making progress and that our living standards had improved.

This is like Zimbabwean economists bragging that half of their working population are now earning 10-million Zimbabwean Dollars per month.

The total value of salaries paid out in South Africa amounts to just R44.8 billion, which is the equivalent of US$4,347-billion.

What could the total salary package of all working South Africans buy with thier US$4.3-billion?

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) have an annual budget of over $4 billion to purchase vaccines from drug companies.

Facebook bought WhatsApp for $19 billion. "Facebook (FB) said it will pay WhatsApp $4 billion in cash and $12 billion in stock. WhatsApp's founders and staff will be eligible for for another $3 billion in stock grants to be paid out if they remain employed by Facebook for four years."

All working South Africans combined could only buy the vaccines for the U.S. CDC and only give the cash deposit to buy Whatsapp.

If you wanted emigrate to the U.S. with R10-million in your back pocket, you would arrive in America with just US$890,718.

Liberals and economists call this "progress"
It came out too late for him to have read it before having made this statement.

In 1994 the ANC promised to build 300,000 a year with a minimum of one million low-cost houses to be constructed within five years. The ANC's Minister of Human Settlements promised in July 2014 that South Africa is about to become the biggest construction site in Africa and most probably in the developing world, because they were going to build 1.5-million houses in the next five years. During the 1999 election campaign the ANC promised to provide free electricity and water to the poorest households. The ANC is going to create 6 million jobs. The ANC is going to provide free healthcare and hospitalisation to all Black, Indian, Chinese and Coloured SA citizens and all illegal foreigners from Africa. (Sorry to inform you that whites, being of European origin, will not qualify.) The ANC was going to stimulate a 6% economic growth. In the run up to the 2014 general elections, the ANC promised a cleaner image and zero tolerance of corruption. The ANC promised better and free education for all. The ANC promised this and that and everything they've promised ended up as a disaster.

But in the end Henry Ford was right...

The media created a reputation for Mandela, for the ANC and Barack Obama, just to get them to power, but in each and every case they failed the Henry Ford test. All of them destroyed the reputations created on their behalf by the media, based on what they were "going to do", and today they all have the reputation of being failures. It shows how international banks lured pre-1994 RSA into a trap.

At the end of 1993, South Africa's international debt was US$25.8-billion. By 1994. Pre-ANC, South Africa posted net capital inflow of +R8 billion. SA's Debt 2014: US$137.8-billion

South Africa's National Debt: R. 1,542,277,891,445
Each Citizen's Share: R.30,540
Debt as % of GDP: 41.66%

South Africa External Debt
Sources: The Library of Congress Country Studies; CIA World Factbook

Historically, mining and agriculture contributed the most to national output. With government assistance during and after World War II, manufacturing grew to become the greatest contributor to overall gross domestic product (GDP--see Glossary), and overall economic growth in the 1960s rivaled that of Japan--averaging 5.9 percent per year in real terms (compared with the 4 percent annual average growth of the 1950s). During the 1970s, however, growth in both manufacturing and agriculture stagnated, and the services sector--especially the insurance industry, financial facilities, and transport services--became the fastest-growing economic sector (see table 5, Appendix).

The price of gold was allowed to float (relative to the rand) in the early 1970s, and by the end of the decade, high prices for gold and other export commodities sparked a brief economic recovery. Mining continued to be vital to the nation's economic future, because minerals, especially gold, dominated exports and influenced the growth of other major economic sectors, which relied on gold exports to bring in much-needed foreign exchange. Thus, even as the importance of gold in the GDP declined, it continued to affect the country's balance of payments. When gold prices (and export revenues) declined, local industries often were unable to obtain imports, such as machinery and other inputs necessary to maintain production; as a result, other exports also declined.

Economic growth slowed in the late 1970s and the early 1980s, not only because of declining gold revenues, but also because of rising prices for oil imports and increased international competition in other traditional export commodities. The first recession of this period occurred in 1976, following dramatic oil price hikes. Strong export growth based on higher gold prices helped the recovery from this recession, but the country was hit by a series of droughts in the 1980s, which seriously affected agricultural output. Further erratic changes in gold prices led to a series of booms and busts, reducing average annual GDP growth for the 1980s to only 1.5 percent.
Negligible growth in the 1980s led to an overall decline in living standards, as population growth far outpaced economic expansion. Per capita GDP declined by more than 10 percent during the decade, and for the average individual, real wealth in 1990 was no higher than it had been in 1970.

National economic stagnation continued in the early 1990s. GDP declined in 1991 and 1992, and registered only weak positive growth in 1993, according to the government's Central Statistical Service. Private consumption accounted for 57 percent of GDP in 1993, representing a minimal (0.4 percent) increase over 1992. Private consumption was constrained by high consumer indebtedness, however, and by concerns over violence and job security.

The recovery strengthened in 1994. In that year, GDP amounted to R432.8 billion (US$121.9 billion) representing 2.6 percent real growth over 1993 (see table 6, Appendix). Per capita GDP averaged about US$3,010, placing South Africa among the World Bank's (see Glossary) upper-middle-income developing countries. The recovery continued in 1995, and officials predicted GDP growth would exceed 4 percent in 1996 (see fig. 13; fig. 14).

National accounting procedures were adjusted in 1994 to incorporate the economies of the four former "independent" African homelands--Bophuthatswana, Ciskei, Transkei, and Venda. In addition, GDP measurements were adjusted upward by 5.6 percent to include a modest estimate of output in the informal sector, which had been omitted from national accounts until 1994. The informal sector constitutes a "parallel" economy, consisting primarily of unrecorded and untaxed wages, barter trade, and other unofficial receipts. For many rural families in South Africa, as in the rest of Africa, informal economic activity accounts for most of the household income.
South Africa's advanced industrial sector made it the twenty-fifth largest economy in the world, a giant among African countries in the 1990s. Per capita GDP, in 1994, compared with the rest of Africa, was topped only by the Seychelles, Réunion, and Gabon. With only about 7 percent of the population and 4 percent of the total land area of Africa, South Africa produced more than one-third of Africa's goods and services, and nearly 40 percent of its manufacturing output.

External Debt

Loan capital was readily available during the 1970s, and both the public and the private sectors borrowed heavily, often in the form of trade credits. Then in the early 1980s, foreign investments declined relative to the value of foreign loans needed to finance economic growth. As a result, equity capital dropped as a percentage of foreign debt from 60 percent in 1970 to less than 30 percent in 1984, while South Africa's loans grew from 40 percent to 70 percent of foreign debt. The government encouraged this trend by stepping in whenever foreign bankers hesitated to increase lending and stabilized indebtedness through gold swaps or by borrowing from the International Monetary Fund (IMF--see Glossary). As a result of these policies, South Africa's net indebtedness to the international banks increased sharply, and about two-thirds of its outstanding loans in 1984 had a maturity of one year or less. The banking sector was responsible for 44 percent of South Africa's foreign liabilities, and a further 16 percent had been incurred by the public sector. Only about 40 percent were private liabilities. Britain dominated foreign capital loans and investments, accounting for about 40 percent of foreign investment in 1985.

South Africa was hit with a major foreign debt crisis in 1985, when a group of banks, led by Chase Manhattan, withdrew substantial credit lines. The banks refused to roll over existing loans and called in many of the short-term loans. As a result, the value of the rand dropped precipitously, and the government temporarily closed its financial and foreign-exchange markets. Unable to meet debt obligations so suddenly, the government declared a standstill on repayments of approximately US$14 billion of South Africa's US$24 billion total external debt. Liabilities not included in the standstill were trade credits, loans from the IMF and central banks, and credits guaranteed by Paris Club (see Glossary) member governments. Publicly quoted issues of South African parastatals (state corporations) were also left out.

During the standstill, government officials met with representatives of creditor banks and drew up a rescheduling plan, which proposed extending the 1985 debt freeze until June 1987 and repaying 5 percent of the total outstanding by April 1987. An initial payment of US$420 million was made in mid-April 1986, but additional rescheduling agreements in 1987 and 1989 extended many of these loans. The 1989 agreement stipulated that the amount of debt remaining in those categories affected by the standstill, originally amounting to US$14 billion, would be reduced to roughly US$6 billion in four years.

A key problem in repaying its loans was the large, but undisclosed, portion of South Africa's debt that was denominated in hard nondollar currencies, but appreciated in dollar terms as the dollar weakened. South Africa nonetheless repaid between US$1.7 billion and US$1.9 billion of debt by 1990, and some foreign bankers were increasingly willing to refinance maturing South African credits. For example, US$300 million of US$900 million bearer bonds in deutsche marks and Swiss francs were rolled over or replaced in 1990.

There was almost no external borrowing by South Africa from 1985 to 1990, so even its slowed schedule of debt repayment made South Africa a net capital exporter during the late 1980s. South Africa reduced its total disclosed foreign debt to less than US$20 billion in early 1992, down from nearly US$24 billion in 1985, according to the South African Reserve Bank. Currency fluctuations brought South Africa's international debt back to US$25.8 billion at the end of 1993, including rand-denominated foreign debt, and that figure continued to increase in 1994.

The government repaid about US$500 million in foreign debt in February 1994. At that time, South Africa was considered an under-borrower by conventional financial criteria, with a foreign debt/export ratio of about 60 percent and a foreign debt/GDP ratio of 15.1 percent, according to South African Reserve Bank figures. Overall, South Africa posted a net capital inflow of more than R8 billion in the second half of 1994. Foreign borrowing increased in 1995, when gross foreign debt rose to nearly 22 percent of GDP.

Data as of May 1996
http://www.photius.com/countries/south_africa/economy/south_africa_economy_external_debt.html

Further Reading

How Big Business and the Media Sold South African Citizens to Communist Gangsters
http://toxinews.blogspot.com/2014/05/how-big-business-and-media-sold-south.html ToxiNewshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11510457413100510059noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1561396371005495300.post-75905694423088188482014-09-27T12:39:00.001+02:002014-09-27T12:39:34.734+02:00Dear White South Africans. You are not of this land?Liberals should read this together with the comments. Perhaps they would learn something, or not.....

"Heritage day is a day where we celebrate the story of South Africa, the story of its people, cultures and traditions."

So whites do not belong in South Africa? The country that was created by Britain and the Boers in 1910? There was no such place as South Africa before whites founded it 1910!!!

Whites do not belong in the Republic South Africa? The country that was made an independent sovereign state by the National Party in 1961?

Ignorance is not bliss, it is deadly

"Let’s start at the beginning……my dear white people, you are not descendants of this land called Afrika. Afrika has its own children that it has birthed and nurtures.
It is written in the history books (which your people wrote) that you came from Holland, France, Britain, Spain…..all these are European countries.
The moral of the story is….You are descendants of Europe.
You are the children of Elizabeth, Hitler, Bismarck and others that built their legacy on stealing lands and making people slaves."

The poor author of this ridiculous article obviously does not realise that the "South Africa" she is referring to was created by the whites she hates and it never existed before the whites created it in 1910. She obviously does not realise that Britain forced the various republics to merge into one single large area, called the "Union of South Africa", that she now claims her forefathers originated from.

Had it not been for Britain, there may never have been a place called "South Africa" and had it not been for the National Party there would never have been an independent sovereign country called "The Republic of South Africa."

So perhaps the anti-white liberals, anti-white blacks and their imaginary friends should take a relook at history and learn when this area, that everyone have been fighting over for so long, became the place called "South Africa".

Of course since the liberals' beloved communist gods were given control of this once sovereign Republic of South Africa, they've been destroying its economy and even its borders, because they do not recognise this country as being separate from the rest of this dark continent of Africa.

Perhaps we should remind them who brought Africa the the brick, the wheel, the pencil, the clothes, the cell-phones, the soccer, the buildings and written language....

Dear White South Africans
http://ntsikimazwai.wordpress.com/2014/09/24/dear-white-south-africans/ ToxiNewshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11510457413100510059noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1561396371005495300.post-17113977323039926272014-09-22T22:38:00.001+02:002014-09-22T22:38:49.550+02:00In South Africa you stand a 1 in 51 chance of being murdered in a lifetimeAccording to official data released by the SA Police Service 410,804 people were murdered in South Africa between 1994, when liberals put the ANC in power, and 31 March 2014:

2013: 17,068
2012: 16,259
2011: 15,609
2010: 15,940
2009: 16,834
2008: 18,148
2007: 18,487
2006: 19,202
2005: 18,528
2004: 18,793
2003: 19,824
2002: 21,553
2001: 21,405
2000: 21,758
1999: 22,604
1998: 25,127
1997: 24,486
1996: 25,470
1995: 26,877
1994: 26,832
Total: 410,804

South Africa, with a population of only 52.98 million (according to the latest Census, a survey among people with fixed addresses), has among the highest rates of violent crime in the world.

With murders up more than nine percent in the past two years, South Africa's murder rate is 5 times higher than the global average of 6 murders per 100,000.

The number of murders increased by 5% and attempted murder by 4.6% over the period 1 April 2013 to 31 March 2014, compared to the previous financial year, reaching a total of 17,068 murders. This calculates to almost 47 murders each day, or just under two murders every hour. "That sort of figure is what one would expect in a war zone." Democratic Alliance MP Dianne Kohler Barnard said.

South Africa's official murder rate increased to 32.2 per 100,000 people, but what does this mean to the average citizen?

In the U.K., with a murder rate of 1.2 per 100,000, your chances of getting murdered in one year are 1 in 83,333. Honduran sources report lower rates of about 75 to 80 homicides per 100,000 people. At 90.4/100,000 your chances of being murdered in Honduras in one year is 1 in 1106, while with a life expectancy of 73 years, your chances of being murdered in a life time is 1 in 14.

At the current rate South Africa will soon overtake Honduras.

It should also be noted that, in 2011/12 South Africa's "official" murder rate was 30.9 per 100 000. According to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in collaboration with the World Health Organisation, at the time, South Africa's murder rate was estimated to be as high as 69.0 per 100,000!

If we are to work on that estimate now, your REAL chances of being murdered in South Africa ranges from between 1 in 3105 (official 2013/2014 stats) to as high as 1 in 1,449 (UN/WHO Estimate) in one year, which would mean that in an average lifetime your chances of being murdered in South Africa would be 1 in 24, versus 1 in 14 in Honduras.

Life threatening crimes are increasing and will continue to do so

Bank robberies, which are armed robberies, spiked by 200% in the 2013/2014 financial year. The SA Banking Risk Information Centre (Sabric)'s crime statistics indicated an increase in bank robberies, bank burglaries and Cash In Transit (CIT) robberies (armed robberies) in the 2013/14 financial year.

Robberies at retail businesses (also armed robberies of course) increased by 30% and financial losses through these robberies grew by 32%.

Business robbery (armed) is up by 13.7% with 2 238 more attacks.

Illegal possession of firearms and ammunition increased 2.5%. These firearms and ammunition are used in armed attacks.

Car hijacking (also armed attacks) is up by 12.3% with 1 231 more attacks than occurred the previous year.

Truck hijacking (armed) increased by 5.1%.

Home robbery (usually armed attacks) is up 7.4%, with 1 334 more cases than the previous year.

The total number of "robberies with aggravating circumstances" (potentially deadly or which caused death) increase to 119 351, up from 105 888 the year before, a 12.7% increase.

It should be obvious that as life threatening crimes increase, the potential for murder also increases.

During 2013, ANC Regime spent R70-billion on the SA Police and the South African public spent another R70-billion on private security in a futile attempt to prevent crime.

Do these latest statistics make sense?

The Institute for Security Studies (ISS) senior researcher Dr Chandre Gould said the anomalies in the 2013/2014 crime statistics were concerning. "The most serious categories of violent crimes have increased. Yet, curiously, cases of common and aggravated assault are down," she said.

Here is another example of how the manipulation of SA crime statistics comes crashing down:

“Total sexual crimes” as reported by the SA Police now include 59 separate offences ranging from sex work to rape. Increases or decreases in such a broad category of crime cannot tell us much. Due the new broader definition of "Sexual Crime", overall sexual offences now show it as having decreased by 11.2% since 2008/9.

Drug-related crimes have increased by 26.1 percent in the 2013/14 financial year. Drug-related crimes increased by 210.4 percent over the past ten years.

"Drug related crimes are higher", while "Rape is down by over 6%"? How does that make sense? It is a well-established fact that drugs, crime and especially rape go hand in hand.

The reason why SA crime statistics are released only once a year and six months after the end of the financial year is because the powers that be need enough time to manipulate the figures downward in an attempt to make it seem better than it really is.

And, like Democratic Alliance MP Dianne Kohler Barnard said, "What help is it to a home-owner to find out now that 18 months ago there was a massive increase in carjackings or house robberies in his area?"

South Africa's murder statistics could be understated by as much as 47% to 50% and notwithstanding the ANC Regime and their liberal helpers' best attempts to manipulate the crime statistics, crime in South Africa has been on the increase since 1994 and will grow much worse in future.

Had liberals, their beloved ANC regime and its loyal media not denied murder, rape & crime in South Africa, millions of victims could have been spared.

Sources and further reading

Why Africa Check failed to disprove Steve Hofmeyr - Whites ARE dying like serious is the Ebola threat really? The number of people dying in West Africa from the ongoing Ebola outbreak is poised to surpass the total number of people to ever have died from the virus in just 10 days, according to World Health Organization figures.

According to figures released by the World Health Organization (WHO) on Wednesday, over 1,900 people have died from the deadly Ebola virus since the current outbreak, which has been traced back to around February.

The outbreak continues to accelerate. More than 40% of the total number of cases have occurred within the past 21 days.

The recorded case and death tolls may "vastly underestimate the magnitude of the outbreak," said WHO spokesman Gregory Hartl

Preliminary results show that cases are still concentrated (62% of all reported cases since the beginning of the outbreak) in the epicentre of the outbreak in Gueckedou (Guinea); Lofa (Liberia), where cases continue to rise; and Kenema and Kailahun (Sierra Leone).

The overall case fatality rate is 52%. It ranges from 42% in Sierra Leone to 66% in Guinea.

South Africans fear for ebola, simply because we realise our health services have collapsed and doubt it would be able to cope with a serious disease outbreak such as ebola.

Now consider the following:

Africa has an estimated population of 1.111 billion people on 30.2 million km², while 1,900 have died from ebola, since February 2014;

While 1,900 people had died from ebola since February this year, at least 8,000 people have been murdered in South Africa during that same period (based on SA's official murder rate being an average of at least 16,000 each year);

1,900 died from ebola, while malaria killed an estimated 627 000 (with an uncertainty range of 473 000 to 789 000) in 2012 alone. In 2012, 90% of all malaria deaths occurred in the WHO African Region;

On 22 August 2014, the United Nations put out an estimate of over 191,000 that had died in the Syrian Civil War (15 March 2011 to 30 April 2014).

In its most recent count, the U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs reports that 2,104 Palestinians and 72 Israelis were killed during the 2014 Israel–Gaza conflict, a war that lasted just over 50 days.

Do you still believe ebola is our greatest threat?

References and Further Reading
http://www.dw.de/nearly-2000-ebola-deaths-who/a-17898153
http://www.who.int/csr/don/2014_08_28_ebola/en/
http://www.webmd.com/news/20140815/scope-of-ebola-outbreak-may-be-greater-than-statistics-show-who
http://www.ibtimes.com/ebola-outbreak-death-toll-poised-break-record-september-1-1665798
https://africacheck.org/factsheets/factsheet-south-africas-official-crime-statistics-for-201213/
http://www.who.int/features/factfiles/malaria/en/
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Africa
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casualties_of_the_Syrian_Civil_War
http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/middle_east/the-un-says-7-in-10-palestinians-killed-in-gaza-were-civilians-israel-disagrees/2014/08/29/44edc598-2faa-11e4-9b98-848790384093_story.html
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014_Israel%E2%80%93Gaza_conflict
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/worldviews/wp/2014/09/03/heres-what-really-happened-in-the-gaza-war-according-to-the-israelis/ ToxiNewshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11510457413100510059noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1561396371005495300.post-28912107921867287422014-08-08T22:33:00.001+02:002014-08-08T22:33:13.017+02:0047% of SA women are in arrears with clothing accounts means 4 498 236 and not 2.7 million as quoted by the mediaAccording to a Sapa article, 47% of credit-active South African women are in arrears with their clothing accounts, which calculate to 2.7 million women, but that is not correct.

"Johannesburg - Forty-seven percent of credit-active South African women are in arrears with their clothing accounts, credit information firm TransUnion SA said on Friday.

“In the second half of last year, over 50 percent of these women were three months or more in arrears on these accounts. GDP (in Millions US$ - 2012) of the countries that fit into Africa:

United States: 16,244,600(million)
China: 8,358,400
Japan: 5,960,180
Germany: 3,425,956
France: 2,611,221
Great Britain: 2,471,600
Italy: 2,013,392
India: 1,875,213
Spain: 1,322,126
Netherlands: 770,067
Switzerland: 631,183
Belgium: 483,402
Portugal: 212,139
Eastern Europe: N/A

Total (excluding Eastern Europe): $46,379,479,million

Official statistics put Africa’s total GDP (2014) at about $1,500,000,million

(South Africa: $384,313,million)

Of course Africa's GDP being less than just that of India alone, will be blamed on "colonialism", "Western countries' exploitation of poor Africa" and let us never forget the terribly "oppressive" "Apartheid".

The fact of the matter is that, while liberals have for decades been trying to convince the world that Africa is the birthplace of Humankind - that is according to the religion of "Evolution", a highly imaginative theory about Humans having originated from some fish droppings or a bug that escaped a huge explosion that lasted less than one trillionth of one second - Africa, after all these millennia, remains as unproductive as it was when it broke away to become a separate continent.

Do not for one moment think that Africa's $1.5 trillion GDP is as a result of their own hard work and innovation. At least 80% is thanks to other countries' involvement and investment in African countries, because self-entitled Africa does nothing for or by itself. Why? Because, the world owes Africa.

Now Africa also has its own definition of "investment". China bribes some leader for mineral rights in a particular country. China then starts a mine, but it has to get the raw minerals to a harbour for export back to China, so it builds a road from the mine to the harbour. Africa calls that "investment in infrastructure development". By the time that the mine has been depleted of the last grain of minerals, the road from the mine to the harbour has also been destroyed by the heavy trucks, and the Chinese pack up their bags and leave, but the leaders have their money, which is all it was about in the first place.

According to so-called experts (real experts not the Africa Check kind), the standard of living of individuals in a country is also a critical factor in determining what is happening in a country and not the state of its GDP alone. Well on that score Africa hits maximum rock bottom of course. According to that mathematics of Nigeria, it is now the richest country in Africa with a GDP, as calculated by themselves, of $510 billion, while it is one of the poorest nations on earth.

Now one cannot just look at GDP against which to measure the massive physical size of Africa, compared to the many countries that could fit into it. One also has to look at things like innovation and patents, which Africa has none of.

One also has to consider Africa's contribution to human growth, like educational advances, scientific discoveries and engineering that it gave to the world, which it has none of.

There is evidence of teaching at Oxford University as far back as 1096. Jan van Riebeeck landed in the Cape 556 later and found not even a pencil or writing skills. When Jan van Riebeeck landed in the Cape, he found no schools, no libraries, no universities, no pencils or pens, In fact he did not even find a wheel or a brick, because Africa had not been given any of those yet.

So besides being the world's greediest and most selfish continent of unproductive consumers, what has Africa done for itself, let alone for the world? Two things that Africa has more of than the rest of the world combined, are arrogance and self-entitlement.

Africa should have been the food basket of the world, but agriculture is non-existent.

It is the most blessed continent in terms of mineral wealth, but it always has and always will allow itself to be plundered, while blaming the plunderers for plundering it.

Africa had no education, but accuses Europeans for denying them education that Europeans brought to Africa in the first place. Africa never harvested its own minerals, but accuses Europeans of stealing their mineral wealth, while praising China for "investing" in roads leading from their mines to the harbours as part of the plundering of Africa.

Nothing, besides growing self-entitlement and arrogance, has changed in Africa in the past 2000 years and nothing will change in the next 2000 years. In 1000 from now black South Africans will still be blaming Apartheid and white liberals will still be crying about the fact they could could never find any evidence of the atrocities they tried to accuse the National Party government of.

In 2000 years from now Africa would still not have invented anything and they'll still be demanding that the rest of the world owe them, still demanding that they be taken care of, while accusing, blaming and insulting those very givers of their daily bread for ever wrong on this dark backward continent that had to this day never even experienced some form of Renaissance.
